Overview
For faster configuration on Android and iOS, see Configure Apps at UMass Amherst (Android & iOS). For enhanced security, we recommend that you first enable IMAP access, turn on 2-step verification, and get an application-specific password. It enables you to use Android apps on PC so you don’t have to run Android apps on iPhone or iPad. For iOS users, no matter you have an Android device by your side or not, you have access to all the Android apps and can even download them from the Google Play Store. Download the Move to iOS app to get help with switching from your Android device to your new iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Get Move to iOS from Google Play If you can't use the Google Play Store, learn how to download Move to iOS.
Google at IU is a suite of productivity and collaboration tools offered to Indiana University students, faculty, and staff by Google. Mobile apps include popular applications such as Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Calendar, and more.
Sign into mobile devices and apps
To sign into your Google at IU account on your mobile device, you'll need to use an IU email address in the format username@iu.edu
(not@indiana.edu
, @iupui.edu
, etc.) before you'll be prompted to enter your IU username and passphrase.
Always use your Google at IU account for Indiana University coursework and other university business. Personal (free) non-IU Google accounts are not approved for institutional data. When working in Google apps, you can check the upper right to see which account you're logged into.
By default, unless you sign out, Google keeps you logged in, even if you close your browser; thus you could be logged into your personal account, even if you started from google.iu.edu. Consider adding a profile picture for each of your accounts to help differentiate between them.
